As Chair of the English Department, I am proud and delighted to help introduce the newest feature of English@New Paltz. Thanks to the resourcefulness of our graduate assistants who managed the technology and the talent of our student and faculty poets who contributed their work, visitors to the English Department blog can now read and hear original poetry right on this site. “These Be the Verses” will be a showcase of the poetic talent in our department. If you are interested in contributing a poem, see Professor Dennis Doherty. We also hope that “These Be the Verses” will become a lively forum for discussion, so please consider yourself invited and encouraged to post comments on the poems or on anything else on the blog.
