Straight Talk & Sage Advice
On Wednesday, April 13 the English Department, Department of Secondary Education, and Career Resource Center teamed up to offer a program entitled “Straight Talk & Sage Advice” for current Secondary Education / English majors facing a tough job market.
The 90-minute event featured experts in the field: Dana Brown, ELA Coordinator for the Wappingers Central School District; English MAT alum Rob Irwin, now in his first year at Monroe-Woodbury High School; and New Paltz alum Peter Krisniski, an Assistant Principal in the Newburgh Enlarged School District.
All three presenters gave real-life advice, often with a lot of humor in the mix, to a packed JFT 1010. Thanks to all who attended, and special thanks to Martha Tait-Watkins, Professor Mary Sawyer, and most of all, our outstanding panelists for their expertise, advice, and encouragement!
